Tarayana Foundation participated in the EAW Global Aqua Expo 2026, held from 6th to 8th August at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, following an invitation from the South Asia Rainwater Harvesting Network (SARNET).
The Expo brought together organisations, practitioners, innovators and stakeholders from across the water, environment and sustainability sectors, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration. Tarayana Foundation showcased its experiences in water security, community-based approaches and climate-resilient solutions, while engaging with practitioners and organisations working on water and environmental issues across the region. The Expo also offered an opportunity for the Foundation to learn from emerging innovations and exchange experiences on sustainable water management approaches from different contexts.
Adding Bhutan’s perspective to the broader dialogue, Tarayana participated in a panel discussion on “Building Resilient Communities through Participation, Livelihoods and Behavioural Change,” highlighting the importance of community participation and locally grounded approaches in strengthening resilience.
The participation was supported through the Living Landscapes project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety through the International Climate Initiative (IKI), with support from WWF Deutschland. In Bhutan, the project is implemented by Tarayana Foundation and WWF Bhutan, in close coordination with the Department of Forests and Park Services and the National Land Commission Secretariat.
