The Foundation successfully hosted the National-Level Awareness Raising and Launch of the Integrated Climate Adaptation Solutions for the Hindu Kush Himalayan Region (HI-CAS) Project, marking an important milestone toward strengthening climate resilience in Bhutan.

Following the successful completion of the inception phase in December 2025, the project now moves into full-scale implementation in Bhutan. HI-CAS will promote gender-responsive and locally tailored climate adaptation solutions, focusing on:
Springshed management
Renewable energy
Agro-biodiversity
Strengthening institutional capacity and coordination
The initiative aims to enhance climate resilience and improve the livelihoods of more than 8,000 community members across the project areas.

The launch event brought together diverse stakeholders, including government representatives, reflecting a strong collective commitment to coordinated and inclusive climate action. Through presentations, interactive discussions, and knowledge sharing, participants strengthened a shared understanding of the projectโs goals, progress, and way forward.

The HI-CAS project is a regional initiative implemented across Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal, with support from Global Affairs Canada and regional collaboration with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
Stay tuned as we continue the momentum with district-level awareness and engagement programmes in the coming days.
Together, we move from dialogue to action, building resilient communities for a sustainable future.
