As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of vulnerable rural households, the Program Team from the Head Office visited Somlaykha, Dorikha, laptsakha and Chimuna villages under Chimuna chiwog, Loggchina Gewog, Chukha Dzongkhag from 15โ18 June 2026. Accompanied by Gewog Committee members, the team carried out field assessments, household interactions, and community engagement activities under the Disaster-Resilient Housing for Vulnerable Rural Communities in Bhutan โ Phase II Project, supported by Karuna Foundation.

The visit enabled the team to gain firsthand insights into the living conditions, housing challenges, and disaster risks faced by community members. Through open dialogue and participatory discussions, residents shared their experiences and priorities, helping to inform future interventions that are both practical and responsive to local realities.
The information gathered will contribute to the planning and implementation of resilient housing solutions aimed at reducing vulnerability and strengthening preparedness against natural hazards. By placing communities at the center of the process, the project continues to foster local ownership and support the creation of safer, more sustainable rural settlements.
