
On 23rd August 2025, a hands-on training on Sustainable Agriculture Practices was successfully conducted at Semjong, Tsirang for the community people and Sonam Jabchorpas of Tsirang.
The session was led by Mr. Chenga Tshering, Principal Land Management Officer, NSSC, and Ms. Sangay Choden , Laborartory Asst. II, Soil Microbiology Programme, NSSC, who provided valuable insights into both theory and field practice.
Key highlights included:
Sustainable Land Management โ maintaining long-term land productivity
Crop Cutting โ accurate yield assessment techniques
Effective Microorganisms (EM) โ boosting soil fertility and plant health
Vermicomposting โ producing high-quality organic fertilizer with earthworms
The participants actively engaged in practical field sessions, making the training more impactful. The new knowledge and skills gained are expected to benefit the broader agricultural community in Tsirang by promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices.
