The 2nd Project Country Advisory Committee (PCAC) Meeting of the Integrated Climate Adaptation Solutions for the Hindu Kush Himalaya Region (HI-CAS) project was held on 9 September 2026 in Thimphu.
As the implementing partner for HI-CAS in Bhutan, Tarayana Foundation presented the project’s progress, key achievements, and implementation updates to the Committee. The meeting provided an important platform to review the progress of project activities, discuss implementation challenges and priorities, and seek guidance and support from relevant government agencies and project partners.
The meeting brought together representatives from key government agencies, the Paro and Punakha Dzongkhag Administrations, Tarayana Foundation, and project partners. Their participation and inputs provided valuable guidance and helped strengthen coordination for the effective implementation of HI-CAS activities in Bhutan.
Discussions focused on strengthening coordination and technical support for the project’s integrated interventions, including springshed management, renewable energy, and agrobiodiversity, with gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) integrated across all interventions. Particular attention was given to the clearances and coordination required for the proposed solar lift irrigation systems at the project sites.
