On ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐ ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฒ, weโre reminded that building a food-secure, sustainable future takes all of us, from farmers to policymakers, communities to countries.
Today, weโre proud to launch the Himalayan Agroecology Initiative (HAI) Factsheet, a reflection of the shared progress made over the past year in strengthening resilient agrifood systems across the Himalayan region.
#HAI is a collaborative, regional partnership led together with local stakeholders. It champions agroecology as a path to healthier diets, resilient communities, thriving landscapes and ecosystems in balance.
The initiative brings together policymakers, academia, civil society, and communities in three countries,, ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐ง, ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฅ to co-develop agroecology roadmaps, tackling climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, nutrition insecurity, poverty, youth outmigration and much more through systems thinking and inclusive solutions.
As Dr. Ram Krishna Shrestha from Nepalโs Ministry of Agriculture puts it:
โThis roadmap takes a systems approach to tackle global challenges… moving beyond siloed solutions.โ
