

Yesterday, the Founding President of the Tarayana Foundation, Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, visited Paro College of Education.
The visit included:
- A heartfelt welcome speech by the Mr. Dorji Wangchuk the Offtg.President of the college
- A detailed club activities report presented by the Club Coordinator Mr. Tashi Phuntsho, highlighting the inspiring work of the student club, which has been active since Spring Semester 2004 (formerly the National Institute of Education – NIE, Paro)


With 256 active members (72 boys and 184 girls), the club is a shining example of #youthledcommunityservice. Their flagship initiative, the Kuenphen Project, is truly remarkable. It aims to:
- Foster #communication and #strengthenrelationships within the college
- Offer #voluntary labour support to those in need
- Provide #incomegenerating opportunities for students facing financial hardship

Her Majestyโs Address:
Her Majesty urged the trainee teachers to uphold the values of #compassion, #discipline, and #service, reminding them of their vital role in shaping the lives of young people. She emphasized the lasting #impact of a teacherโs words, actions, and character, encouraging them to teach with #patience, #leadbyexample, and #nurture not only the #minds but also the #hearts of their students to help build a #stronger, more #compassionatefuture generation. As His Majesty the King continues to work selflessly for the future of the nation, Her Majesty reminded the trainees that, as future #educators, they carry the profound #responsibility of shaping the minds and values of the #nextgeneration.



As the nation celebrates the 70th Birth Anniversary of the Great Fourth His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck and His Holiness the Je Khenpo, Trulku Jigme Choedra this year, Her Majesty reminded everyone of how truly #blessedBhutan is to have been graced by such #extraordinaryleaders. Her Majesty urged all citizens to offer #heartfeltprayers in #gratitude for their long life and continued #goodhealth.
Certificates were awarded to the Tarayana Club and its graduating members by Her Majesty.

After lunch, Her Majesty also visited the Heritage Education and Professional Development Centre & Inner Science Education and Research Library of the college.
