


On 26 January 2026, the HI-CAS โ Integrated Climate Adaptation Solution for the Hindu Kush Himalaya Region project began its 26โ30 January 2026 field mission with a community consultation in Tili village (Shaba Gewog).
The meeting brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including the Gewog Agriculture Extension, Tshogpa, Dzongkhag Agriculture and Environmental Officers, EDMO, Department of Water, Engineers from the Irrigation Division (DoID), a Consultant design engineer from ICIMOD, energy and project officers from Tarayana Foundation, HICAS project representatives, and local community members.
The consultation focused on understanding existing irrigation practices, water availability, and community priorities to inform the planning and design of a solar-powered irrigation system. Community insights shared during the discussion will guide subsequent field assessments and technical planning activities from 26โ30 January 2026.
This collaborative start reflects HI-CASโs commitment to participatory, climate-resilient solutions grounded in local knowledge.
