Another update from the HI-CAS Project, following the successful launch and building strong momentum on the ground
In the second week of March, two days of community engagement were held in Tili and Yebisa villages, focusing on the formation of GESI-responsive user groups and agrobiodiversity consultations. Communities were introduced to the project and its inclusive approach, emphasizing participation, leadership, and shared decision-making.
Through interactive discussions, local user groups were formed with leaders chosen collectively, ensuring representation of women and persons with disabilities. Agrobiodiversity discussions brought forward valuable traditional knowledge and ideas to strengthen sustainable farming practices.

Reflections also highlighted the importance of collective action, with communities recognizing the need for functional groups to drive long-term solutions beyond the project.
These engagements mark a strong step forward in building inclusive, community-led platforms rooted in ownership, sustainability, and empowered local voices.
