

A two-day Smart Agriculture Farming Training was successfully conducted recently at Gangkha and Gibsa villages under Khebisa Gewog, in collaboration with the Gewogโs Extension Agriculture Officer.
The training focused on empowering farmers with sustainable, eco-friendly, and climate-resilient farming techniques using locally available resources. A total of 78 farmers participated, 34 (17M & 17F) from Gangkha and 44 (15M & 29F) from Gibsa. Local officials also joined to support and observe the sessions.

Open Bio-char Making
Vermicomposting
Natural Pesticides
Grafting & Pruning
Air Layering
Farmers engaged in hands-on demonstrations to enhance their understanding and confidence in adopting these methods.
By promoting low-cost, nature-based solutions and more innovative farming practices, the training aims to improve soil health, boost crop productivity, and build stronger, climate-resilient communities.
The activity is part of enhancing the Resilience of Grassroots Communities to Adapt to Climate Change through Agroforestry project funded by Stiftung Drittes Millennium ( The foundation for third millennium).
