His Excellency Dr. Philipp Ackermann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to India and Bhutan, visited Sali village in Dogar Gewog in Paro Dzongkhag today to observe the #Springshed Development and #waterharvesting initiatives. His Excellency was accompanied by Mr. Marius Osswald, Minister Counsellor and Head of Political Affairs at the German Embassy in New Delhi.
The #communitymembers of Sali village extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador and his delegation. His Excellency expressed his sincere appreciation for the efforts of the #projectpartners and the #community, noting the tangible impact such initiatives can have at the #grassrootslevel and their importance in advancing #sustainabledevelopment and #environmentalconservation.

The initiative is implemented under the project Living Landscape: Securing High Conservation Values in South Western Bhutan jointly undertaken by the Tarayana Foundation and WWF Bhutan supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
The project aims to enhance #climateresilience and #safeguard vital #ecological landscapes in southwestern Bhutan.
We are grateful for the Ambassador and his delegation for the appreciation and motivation, and to the community members for safeguarding our environment.
