

Her Majesty Gyalyum Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, the Founding President of the Tarayana Foundation, commenced a monitoring visit to Maedtabkha and Loggchina Gewogs under the Chukha district today.
En route, Her Majesty Gyalyum Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck granted an audience to the students and faculty of Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS), as well as members of the Tarayana Club from Arekha Middle Secondary School.


During the audience, the Tarayana Club of GCBS presented an update on its recent activities and ongoing initiatives. Among the notable undertakings were the distribution of clothes to underprivileged individuals at Pakshikha and Darla schools. Currently, the Club is collaborating with the Community Partnership Centre and Toilet Wizard to assist a family in Alikha in constructing a toilet and improving their water supply facilities.
Looking ahead, the Club plans to launch a Goodwill Store, an initiative where individuals can donate clothes, electronics, and other useful items. These items will be refurbished or reused and made available for purchase at affordable prices, promoting both sustainability and community welfare.
The Tarayana Club at GCBS was established on August 24, 2010, and currently comprises 101 members (49 male and 55 female), including five teaching staff. Meanwhile, the Tarayana Club at Arekha Middle Secondary School, established in 2019, has 24 active members (5 male and 19 female).


Her Majesty expressed heartfelt gratitude to the students and faculty for their dedication and hard work. Emphasizing the importance of compassion in community service, Her Majesty encouraged everyone to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Her Majesty presented Club T-shirts to the Tarayana Club members of Gedu College.
The program featured cultural performances by students from Gedu College and Arekha Middle Secondary School, paying tribute to the 70th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty.
Her Majesty also met and interacted with community members of Geyling Gewog, enroute todayโs destination, Meadtabkha Gewog. The community members offered their felicitations for the 70th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty.
