Her Majesty Gyalyum Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck visited the two Tarayana School Clubs in Zhemgang Dzongkhag: Sonamthang Central School and Yebilaptsha Central School.
Sonamthang Central School Tarayana Club, first established in 2019, has been revitalized this year with 77 active members (58 girls and 19 boys) after a brief pause during the pandemic and a transition in coordination.

Yebilaptsha Central School Tarayana Club, newly established in 2025, joins the Tarayana family with 15 dedicated members (10 girls and five boys) committed to Tarayanaโs mission of empowering youth for community development and nurturing the spirit of volunteerism and compassion. This school holds a special place in Tarayanaโs history; it was here that Her Majesty visited in 2004 to inaugurate the very first Tarayana School Club in the country. The club remained active for several years before becoming dormant following the transfer of its coordinator.
It was a day filled with inspiration, warmth, and joy as young Tarayana members had the rare honour of meeting and interacting with Her Majesty.

During the interaction, Her Majesty advised the students to be disciplined, confident, resilient, and compassionate, underscoring the importance of setting clear life goals and working diligently and perseveringly to achieve them.
Her Majesty reminded the students that Tarayana Club members are true ambassadors of compassion, entrusted with the noble responsibility of carrying forward the values of kindness and service within their schools and communities.
Reflecting on the special significance of this year, Her Majesty highlighted Bhutanโs celebration of the 70th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and His Holiness the Je Khenpo- two revered figures whose lives exemplify wisdom and compassion. Her Majesty encouraged the students to uphold environmental stewardship, cultural preservation, and spiritual mindfulness, following the shining example set by His Majesty The King. ![]()

Her Majesty also emphasized the importance of striving to be the best version of oneself in service to our most beloved King, His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, who works tirelessly to secure a brighter future for the nation.
Both schools presented their Tarayana Club progress reports, shared their experiences and future plans, and offered vibrant cultural performances in honour of the visit. Students also had the special opportunity to ask Her Majesty questions- an unforgettable moment of learning and inspiration.
Her Majesty was accompanied by the Honโble Speaker of the National Assembly and the Honโble Minister of Finance, who represent Panbang and Bardo-Trong constituencies in Zhemgang Dzongkhag.
