

Yesterday, Her Majesty Gyalyum Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, the Founding President of the Tarayana Foundation, visited Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology – GCIT, a beacon of Bhutanโs future and a proud product of His Majesty The Kingโs visionary leadership.
In a heartfelt welcome, College President Madam Audrey Low shared the exciting potential of Tech + Tarayana and how emerging innovations can power compassion, transforming lives in even the most remote villages.

In Her Majestyโs heartfelt address, she praised the innovation, energy, and deep sense of purpose evident on campus. She reminded students of their duty to serve His Majesty and the nation of Bhutan with discipline, loyalty, and dedication. Her Majesty also thanked all the Tarayana Club members and advisors for their dedicated service in upholding the Tarayana values and putting compassion into action.



The Clubs have carried out diverse #CommunityDriven initiatives promoting #sustainability, #health, and #socialwellbeing. Their activities include bottle collection and #upcycling into #handmade bags that provided income for #localwomen, hospital and library cleaning, a #NonCommunicableDiseases survey in Kalapang, and a cloth collection drive. They also collaborated with WWF Bhutan during #EarthHour through a hike contributing to ๐๐,๐๐๐ ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ for mother Earth, and through the PLEASE Project the Club promoted #WasteSegregation. Additionally, the clubs organized a โZero Waste Hourโ at Kabesa Campus, highlighting their commitment to environmental care and #CommunityEmpowerment.
This visit also honored two extraordinary national figures: His Majesty the Fourth King and His Holiness Jekhenpo, both celebrating 70 remarkable years.



Her Majesty closed the address with a hope for continued collaboration between Tarayana and technology, calling it โTech Tarayanaโ, a beautiful partnership.
โTech Tarayanaโ is not just a concept; itโs a calling. A promise that Bhutanโs compassion will not be left behind in the age of AI, but instead, will lead the way.
After the session, Her Majesty met the CEO of Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan (RSEBL) and the Director, Bhutan Insurance Ltd. along with the President of the GCIT, to discuss some exciting projects through the Fintech Innovation Lab. We are excited to take this #collaboration forward to benefit the #ruralcommunities.
