Success Stories

FROM BOYS TO MEN

They say every picture tells a story – but sometimes the picture can’t quite tell the whole story, even if it wanted to. Dorji is one such picture. He spends his winter vacations helping his parents. He helped them construct their house. Dorji is from Wangling village under Langthil Gewog in Trongsa, which is Tarayana’s Rural Economy Advancement Programme implementing site.

He is also a student of science studying at the Sherabling Central School in Trongsa and he has just completed his board examination.

Now why is this story worth sharing apart from bringing it to your notice that he is helping his parents in constructing a house is because of what lies between them – a wooden-wagon wheel that Dorji himself fashioned to transport the quarry stones. He does not want his old father to be troubled with the physical labor.

He is apparently planning to make a bigger wooden-wagon wheel, now that his experiment has yielded good results.
