Training on making mud blocks for improved cook stove in Tsento, Paro

fdgrgA practical and theoretical training on making mud bricks/blocks for the improved cook stove was conducted at Naminmechhu, Namjey and Chungjey Chewogs under Tsento Gewog in Paro by Karma Wangchuk, one of the Programme Officers. The training that was conducted on the 4th of November was attended by 28 participants. The focal person gave comprehensive explanation on the size, quantities and materials required for making mud blocks. The beneficiaries will then produce the required number of bricks for their own stoves. Metallic parts will be provided by the Foundation upon the completion of the bricks. Some of the community members will be trained as Technicians, who will further train the rest in the communities. Tarayana was the local implementing partner to the Sustainable Rural Biomass Energy Project executed by the Department of Renewable Energy, MOEA, in Sarpang Dzongkhag. Upon request from the Tsento gewog, the same cook stove model is being promoted through the UN Women Support.
