How to donateThe Foundation accepts donation from individuals. No contribution is too small for Târâyana as we are targeting the grassroots level. Donations can be made in two ways; through the Bhutan Foundation in the USA, or directly to Tarayana in Bhutan. Donations to Tarayana can be made online at www.bhutanfound.org or checks can be written to the Bhutan Foundation with a memo to Tarayana Foundation and mailed to the address below:
The Bhutan Foundation is a tax exempt organisation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code - Federal ID # 13-3376290. Bhutan Foundation receives donations in the USA on behalf of Tarayana Foundation and other NGOs in Bhutan. The Foundation is a registered charity and non-profit organisation that devotes all its resources to the purposes of the Foundation. The President, the Board of Trustees, and the Management Committee members raise funds from individuals, corporate donors, international agencies, and other funding agencies for the realization of the Foundation's aims. If you have a question, please feel free to contact us. Management of the FoundationHer Majesty the Queen, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, is the president of the Foundation. The administration and direction is overseen by a Board of Trustees appointed from a wide section of society. The Board meets twice a year to review ongoing activities and approve new ones. The day-to-day management of the Foundation and the execution of projects and related activities are carried out by the Secretariat. The Secretariat is assisted by a Commitee of Member Volunteers who help in the implementation of programs and provide technical and advisory services. The Committee meets every two weeks. Transparency and AccountabilityThe Foundation maintains its accounts in accordance with accepted financial norms and is audited annually by the Royal Audit Authority of Bhutan. An audited financial report and an annual progress report are published every year and is available for all interested individuals and organizations. Târâyana Foundation operates on the financial support of individuals and organizations. A few of the programs are project-based and supported through bilateral and international organizations. |
